About Switch Sound Test
Building a custom keyboard? The sound is the most subjective part. We have recorded high-quality audio samples of the most popular mechanical switches so you can hear the difference before you buy.
Switch Types
- Clicky (Blue/Green): Loud, tactile "click" sound. Great for typing, loud for roommates.
- Tactile (Brown/Clear): A bump you can feel, but no loud click. A quiet middle ground.
- Linear (Red/Yellow/Black): Smooth travel with no bump. Silent and fast. Best for gaming.
- Silent Switches: Dampened stems for near-silent operation in offices.
